Dr Annemarie Novello obtained her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology at the Rand Afrikaans University (MA Clin Psych) (Cum Laude) in 1988 and her Doctorate (DLitt et Phil) in 1994. Annemarie Novello, during her time at the University, coordinated many undergraduate and postgraduate courses, the B Psych programme, and developed several new courses and programmes, mainly on the subject of trauma,. She is passionate about the field of Trauma Psychology and serves on the Board and EXCO of the Traumatic Stress Institute in Johannesburg. She also runs a monthly group for volunteer counsellors on their behalf and does part-time training for the Institute. Dr Novello is the co-author of various articles published in accredited scientific journals. She presented a paper at the Narrative, Memory and Trauma Conference in Cape Town in July 2002. Dr Novello also attended the biennual conference of the European Psychological Society in London in 2001, where she presented a poster.
